Chess Online & Offline

The Chess Online & Offline app is a modern, feature-rich chess platform developed by Splend Apps. This application serves both competitive online players and offline tacticians by utilizing a high-performance database infrastructure built on Google Firebase Firestore. This backend ensures that real-time match data remains synchronized across devices with low latency, facilitating bullet, blitz, and rapid matches against opponents from all over the world.

The application is built on modern visual and interactive design standards. It uses an interface inspired by Material Design 3, offering standard light and dark options, along with 21 board styles and 16 unique piece sets. These visual options are complemented by haptic feedback patterns and a curated selection of classical music tracks, creating a focused, classical environment during matches.

The game's technical design is split into distinct gameplay loops. For competitive matches, the system uses the Arpad Elo rating formula to calculate player skill adjustments. Online match times are split into Classic, Blitz, and Bullet formats to accommodate different strategic playstyles.

For learning and training, the application features an opening directory containing over 3,000 openings and variations, automatically identifying structures like the Sicilian Defense or the Queen's Gambit in real time. It also includes a tactical puzzle database containing over 500,000 puzzles that test players' skills across themes like checkmate patterns, pins, forks, and skewers.

The offline AI engine features 16 difficulty tiers spanning an Elo range of 600 to 2100. This structure provides an accessible learning curve for beginners while remaining challenging for intermediate and advanced chess players.
